Life is pretty quiet on early morning Main Street

The calendar tells us that the first day of autumn was Friday, September 22, but the recent warm temperatures would belie this notion. However, we now know that the season has officially arrived, at least in Fort Fairfield, Maine. (See photos and descriptions.)

Can you spot the difference between this photo and the next?

You're right! The Friendly Fort Fairfield banner is missing.

Rotarian Wayne Troicke, with an assist from the town's Public Works Department, prepares to take down the Main Street banners, making way for fall and winter seasonal decorations.

Check the safety harness.

Loosen the supports.

Voila!!!

Job well done!!!

Newly constructed gazebo. (Just for fun.)
